What Youll Be Doing:
- Leading and mentoring a team of CAD Draughtsmen ensuring high-quality manufacturing drawings are produced on time and in line with project schedules.
- Overseeing the production of detailed 2D and 3D models using SolidWorks ensuring drawings comply with industry and company standards.
- Managing workflow allocation prioritisation and deadlines within the Drawing Office to meet client schedules.
- Overseeing the production of NC programmes for manufacturing equipment including routers turret punches and laser cutters utilising Sigmanest and Salvagnini software.
- Working closely with the production engineering and operations teams to ensure accurate and manufacturable designs.
- Implementing and maintaining best practices in design data management revision control and documentation.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within design and production workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Acting as the key technical contact for CAD and manufacturing software troubleshooting issues and driving process improvements.
- Supporting training and development of team members to ensure the team has the skills to meet business needs.
Who Were Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Senior CAD Draughtsman CAD Manager or Design Team Lead in a manufacturing or building products environment.
- Strong expertise in SolidWorks with the ability to produce detailed drawings and manufacturing data.
- Experience with NC programming tools such as Sigmanest and Salvagnini (or equivalent systems).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes sheet metal fabrication and production workflows.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies would be beneficial
