Job Summary
The Department of Political Science in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for a full-time academic professional track (non-tenure-track) Assistant or Associate Professor of Instruction with expertise in American political institutions to begin August 2026. We are especially interested in candidates whose teaching expands our current offerings in the American presidency Congress or civic engagement.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Candidates should demonstrate a record of or potential for excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and teach introductory courses in American politics as well as substantive courses in their area of expertise including upper-level undergraduate courses and Masters level courses. The position will also entail some service particularly related to curriculum.
Required Qualifications
A completed Ph.D. in Political Science. ABDs will be considered but must have successfully defended their dissertation and the degree conferred by the appointment date of 9/1/2026. Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Political Science. Experience teaching courses in American Politics. Experience with and interest in service particularly related to curriculum and recruitment. Interest in teaching and service at a sustained level sufficient to meet promotion standards.
