ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Program Manager Data Management and Technical Support is responsible for planning designing developing organizing and delivering and monitoring training programs consistent with provincial and departmental program applications and technologies; undertakes and participates in research special projects and evaluation of practices and procedures.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
- Responsible for the research planning and design of learning plans modules and evaluations.
- Organizes and facilitates training sessions and sets up training rooms and equipment as required.
- Develops procedural documentation relating to pertinent legislation regulations policies practices technologies and skills development consistent with divisional programs and IT Systems.
- Researches and conducts regular analysis surveys and assessments to maintain current training material and practices.
- Implements appropriate tools to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs; prepares summary reports on participant feedback and makes recommendations or adjustments as required.
- Identifies inconsistencies in departmental or branch policies and practices and recommends actions to remedy.
- Acts as a resource to supervisors managers and staff on technical and program knowledge.
- Promotes effective communications and public relations and works in co-operation with internal and external staff management vendors contractors and other government agencies.
- Maintains current professional practice within the training field and program technical skills and knowledge by attending various courses workshops and conferences and participating in regular program service delivery case management etc.
- May occasionally be required to respond to emergency situations outside of normal business hours as related to the Departmental Emergency Plan.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of a College diploma in Business Administration adult education or a related discipline or equivalent approved combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three (3) years experience in a public health environment with extensive experience with public health related software applications used to support data management and program deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience of IT systems and at least three (3) years hands-on experience with public health data management systems such as iPHIS Cognos ReportNet and Panorama.
- Knowledge of infectious diseases programs services and deliverables; relevant legislation guidelines and procedures pertaining to infectious diseases control and public health.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly and effectively convey issues reports and other deliverables internal and external partners.
- Knowledge of basic statistics data analysis techniques and epidemiological methods.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering adult training or adult education.
