About the role.

McCain Foods (Canada) is seeking a Lead Hand Peeler/ Cutter Operator to join our SL4 Plant facility in Grand Falls NB. Please note this position is physically demanding and requires working 12-hour rotating shifts on a 4-on 4-off basis (2 days 2 nights). This position operates in a fast-paced dynamic and noisy environment that demands a high level of alertness and adaptability. The role involves regular walking standing bending and lifting items up to 35 to 40lbs. Applicants should be comfortable working amid substantial sensory input and able to maintain focus and productivity during extended shifts. The ideal candidate will be dependable demonstrate a strong work ethic and possess the ability to work safely and efficiently as part of a team in a busy manufacturing environment.

What youll be doing.

• Each Lead-Hand / Peeler Operator will be responsible for Peeler area and production line cleanliness and other assigned areas as required.
• To complete any inspections tests or checks as required by SL4 Plant Supervision
• To break other operators for scheduled breaks as required.
• Maintain an acceptable level of cleanliness in their assigned area by use of a water hose and chemicals (after chemical training is received).
• Follow GMPs.
• Advises supervision of any safety issues within their work environment.
• Actively looks for ways to improve plant sanitation.
• Actively look for ways to improve overall Peeling area operation.
• All other duties as assigned by SL4 Plant Shift Supervisor.

What youll need to be successful.

• Basic computer skills would be an asset.
• Ability to work well with plant supervision and production employees.
• Team player with excellent attendance.
• Must have good mathematical skills and complete production forms accurately and neatly.
• Demonstrate continuous initiative and involvement.
• Highly motivated observant with good initiative and a positive attitude.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment adapting to and embracing change as it occurs.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must possess a good safety record and demonstrate safety first on a continual basis.

Compensation Package:$ -$ Starting at24.40 CAD hourly Bonus eligibility Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience skill set education and training and other organizational needs.
