Meals on Wheels Tasmania is looking for a friendly organised community-minded person to join our team as a Branch Coordinator at our East Coast Branch in St Helens. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people is confident with administration tasks and wants to make a meaningful contribution to their local community.

About us:

Meals on Wheels Tasmania began serving the community in 1955 and now operates 15 branch locations across the State from Wynyard in the northwest to the Huon Valley in the south. Each year our team of more than 50 dedicated staff and over 700 volunteers deliver approximately 300000 meals to older Tasmanians and people with living with disabilities helping them maintain their independence and continue living safely in their own homes.

About the role:

This part-time position is responsible for coordinating the daily delivery of meals supporting our team of volunteers and managing the day-to-day administration for the East Coast Branches. Based in St Helens the role offers a steady schedule of 15 hours per week worked Monday to Friday from 11 am to 2 pm. Its an excellent opportunity for someone who is flexible dependable and passionate about making a positive impact in their community.

About you:

The successful candidate in the role will have:

Essential (Selection Criteria):

  • Strong Computer Proficiency: Experience in MS Office Suite and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to effectively liaise with clients families and carers regarding meal changes inquiries and concerns which can include challenging situations.
  • Relationship-Building: Proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients volunteers and community partners. Plan and organise events and activities that engage with new and existing volunteers.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong administrative skills to manage meal delivery logistics and maintain accurate records.
  • Adaptability: Ability to handle organisational change effectively.
  • Cultural Awareness: Understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of diverse populations including those from different cultural socioeconomic and age groups.

Desirable (Selection Criteria):

  • Volunteer Management: Experience in recruiting coordinating and managing volunteer rosters. Ability to focus on enhancing team skills and performance. Addressing volunteer inquiries and concerns.
  • Community Knowledge: Familiarity with not-for-profit organisations and the operations of similar community organisations and their best practices. Leadership Skills: Experience in leading or managing teams particularly in a volunteer context.
