About the role:
The Lead Monitoring & Evaluation will be responsible for strengthening program monitoring systems ensuring quality data management and generating insights to guide program design implementation and decision-making. This role involves leading the M&E team building organizational capacity in evidence-based planning and ensuring high-quality reporting to donors and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Program Monitoring & Support
Monitoring Protocols & Systems
Develop and standardize monitoring protocols across projects.
Studies & Evaluations
Design and oversee baseline midline and impact evaluations.
Data Management & Analysis
Oversee data collection validation storage and analysis.
Reporting & Communication
Ensure compliance with donor reporting standards and timelines.
Capacity Building & Training
Design and deliver M&E training sessions for staff.
Mentor teams on data collection analysis and reporting.
Build a culture of accountability and learning.
KPI Development & Tracking
Define and monitor project-level KPIs with program leads.
Track and address implementation gaps systematically.
Field Monitoring
Conduct field visits to validate data and assess program quality.
Donor Engagement
Support donor-led evaluations and monitoring processes.
Continuous Learning
Facilitate reflection sessions to capture lessons learned and best practices.
Stay updated with global trends in M&E and integrate relevant approaches.
Experience & Qualifications
Strong expertise in designing M&E frameworks tools and studies.
Demonstrated proficiency in statistical software (SPSS STATA R etc.) and data management systems.
Proven track record of high-quality report writing and donor-facing communications.
Experience managing and mentoring teams.
Exposure to donor-driven projects and international funding agencies.
Graduate degree required; MBA/advanced degree in Finance Economics or Statistics preferred.
Prior experience in the social/development sector is an advantage.
