As we continue to grow we are looking for a passionate and strategic HR Manager to shape exceptional employee experiences while ensuring operational excellence.
Unlike traditional HR setups rooted in static best practices we are building a people function that is agile data-driven and tailored to the realities of a fast-scaling knowledge-driven organization.
In this position you will report directly to our Founder and take ownership of both the operational backbone of HR and the cultural development of SPREAD. You will manage a small team while remaining hands-on and proactive yourself.
Your Mission
This role combines two essential dimensions:
Run the engine:
- Ensure that all core HR operations are reliable compliant and scalable. This includes payroll compensation processes documentation and compliance with German labor law.
- Lead HR systems and data management leveraging process automation and digitalization to enable scalability. By embedding people analytics and actionable dashboards you will deliver real insights that influence business outcomes and inform leadership decision-making.
- Oversee event office and vendor management ensuring that our Berlin HQ remains a functional and welcoming environment.
Shape the culture and grow our people:
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and leadership bringing not only HR expertise but also organizational transformation perspectives that help teams improve effectiveness.
- Drive performance management end-to-end from structured goal-setting to feedback loops and development planning ensuring the process fuels individual growth and business impact rather than bureaucracy.
- Design and implement engagement surveys analyze the results and translate insights into meaningful actions.
- Contribute to career frameworks and organizational development initiatives building structures that enable growth agility and accountability.
- Design and deliver leadership development and learning programs making sure our people have the skills and capabilities to meet future challenges.
- Foster culture and employee experience by shaping internal initiatives events and rituals that strengthen SPREADs values and identity.
Your Experience
- 3 years of experience gained in a top consultancy or advisory practice where you focused on HR transformation organizational development or people-driven change.
- A proven ability to move from strategy to execution ensuring that initiatives are embedded and deliver tangible impact not just well-designed slides.
- Strong experience working directly with senior stakeholders e.g. Founders C-level executives or business leaders with the confidence to act as a trusted advisor.
- Breadth of HR knowledge across operations compliance performance management talent development and culture with the ability to identify gaps and proactively put scalable solutions in place.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English enabling you to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
- A hands-on solutions-oriented approach with the stamina to balance strategic priorities with day-to-day operational needs.
- Above all you are passionate about shaping employee experience and organizational culture. You see HR not as enforcing best practices but as building adaptive high-impact people strategies that evolve with the business and make work better for everyone
