Job Title: Sr. Cloud System Engineer - AWS

Compensation Information
The expected salary range for this position is $65 - $80 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Overview
TalentFish is casting a line for a Sr. Cloud System Engineer - AWS. This is a 6-month contract with potential to convert hybrid role in Evanston IL with our premier client!
In this new position the Sr. Cloud System Engineer will evaluate remediate and modernize the AWS environment while driving cloud governance security scalability and workload migrations across cloud and datacenter environments.
What You Bring to the Role (Ideal Experience)
Must have 5 7 years of experience supporting enterprise AWS environments cloud engineer IAC / Terraform IAM.
Proficiency in AWS core services (EC2 S3 RDS Lambda ECS/EKS VPC)
Strong expertise in IAM AWS Organizations and multi-account governance
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform CloudFormation)
Strong understanding of cloud security monitoring and cost optimization practices
Experience with cloud workload migrations (AWS Azure or datacenters)
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer preferred)
Strong troubleshooting diagnostic and communication skills able to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or equivalent experience
What Youll Do (Skills Used in this Position)
Evaluate the AWS environment identifying gaps in security governance performance and cost optimization and deliver recommendations
Design deploy and maintain scalable AWS solutions across compute storage and networking services
Administer AWS accounts and organizations ensuring secure multi-account operations with IAM and Control Tower
Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to modernize workloads and implement cloud-native designs
Plan and execute workload migrations between AWS other cloud providers and datacenters
Implement and manage monitoring logging and alerting strategies (CloudWatch CloudTrail third-party tools)
Apply cost optimization practices including tagging Savings Plans and Reserved Instances
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code for automation and configuration management
Work with Information Security to implement guardrails ensure compliance and align with cybersecurity best practices
Document system configurations standards and procedures to support governance and knowledge sharing
Provide technical leadership mentoring and guidance on AWS best practices
Contribute to continuous improvement training and future enterprise cloud initiatives
