Summary:

The role of the Air Planning Associate is a critical part of making Flexports mission to make global trade easy for everyone a this role your direct customers are the partners carriers and internal audiences within your region your work directly supports Flexports end customers in achieving their logistics goals. This role involves customer service freight handling and administrative duties such as tracking shipments filing paperwork and keeping records.

Responsibilities:

Export Side:

• Manage the capacity and fulfillment of Flexports charter flights (if applicable) and Blocked Space with Carriers/ Partners in regions served by Flexport ensuring we fulfill the requirements
• Optimize Flexports margin by consolidating shipments to generate free weight and meet the service level requested by the customers
• Coordinate closely with partners on the shipment movement
• Maintain Consol Plan to link the correct flight schedule and buy rate with each shipment
• Manage day-to-day operations
• Work closely with Partners Air Pricing and Operations in different destinations to ensure that shipments meet committed service levels
• Work with external parties such as carriers and terminals for capacity and shipment coordination
• Ensure cargo is loaded secured tracked and declared in accordance with airlines regulations

Import Side:

• Coordinate the clearance and the de-consolidation of all import shipments into the region you oversee interacting with import partners for the exceptions solving

Continuous Improvement:

• Work with tech team to build and enhance the Flexport Air Planning Tool
• Handle customer inquiries and provide information about cargo services
• Ensure shipments meet all relevant regulations
• Follow up on cargo status and delivery
• Provide customer service and troubleshoot any issues

Experience & Skills:

• BA/ BS degree and 2-3 years of experience in air freight forwarding or logistics;
• An internal track record of success in an operational or planning role;
• Hands-on process-oriented structured thinking with strong problem-solving capabilities;
• A client service mindset;
• Flexibility to get the job done when needed willing to work outside office hours and occasional weekend or night shifts;
• Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills;
