About the Company

Main Street Project (MSP) is a community health Centre with a mandate to address the social determinants of health which give rise to issues of addiction physical and mental health issues and homelessness. MSP uses housing-first and harm reduction principles in the provision of a safe respectful and accessible place for individuals who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in the community. Since 1972 MSP has been providing a range of services to Winnipegs most marginalized residents including emergency shelter and nutrition services drug and alcohol withdrawal management services health advocacy and support case management services housing support services food bank services and a mobile community outreach program.

Job Summary

Main Street Project (MSP) provides a range of low-barrier harm reductionfocused services including withdrawal management supportive housing and a community drop-in. Our programs offer food shelter harm reduction supplies safe spaces and pathways toward recovery housing and long-term stability. Services operate 365 days a year and are rooted in respect dignity and accessibility for all who enter our care.

The Casual Float Support Worker provides flexible coverage across multiple MSP programs including Protective Care Withdrawal Management Services (Mens and womens Non-Binary units) and Housing (Mainstay the Bell and Furby). This role offers break coverage and additional support as required assisting participants with daily needs crisis response eviction prevention harm reduction and capacity building.

Float Support Workers collaborate with participants to support individualized detox care plans housing goals and personal development focusing on independence harm reduction and tenant-defined success. They also work with participants to enhance self-awareness life skills and overall well-being while ensuring a safe and stable environment.

As part of a collaborative team the Float Support Worker upholds MSPs mission goals and values harm reduction choice equity diversity and respect while helping participants build capacity and move forward in their unique recovery and housing journeys.
