Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

TeHerenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting an Organisational Development (OD) Adviser.If you like turning good ideas into learning that sticks - and you care that people feel seen safe and supported at work - youll fit right in. Were a tight collaborative OD team focused on lifting capability inclusion and engagement across the this Adviser role youll keep the wheels moving: support implement and develop OD programmes within our frameworks cofacilitate workshops keep our LMS tidy and useful and use feedback and data to make each round better than the last. Youll work alongside Senior OD Advisers the OD Administrator and partners across the University to embed kaupapa Māori and equityminded practice in everything we do.

We are looking to appoint into the salary range between $79220 - $85000 per annum.

Key responsibilities

  • Support implement and develop OD programmes within established frameworks and co-facilitate delivery (e.g. induction Manager Essentials core capability pathways).
  • Curate/build elearning and maintain accurate learning records in the LMS.
  • Support employee engagement capability and progression initiatives.
  • Contribute to refreshed EDI equitable remuneration and complaints frameworks.
  • Run surveys/pulse tools collate insights and report on outcomes.
  • Provide change delivery support and help run the change community sessions.
  • Fulfil Health Safety and Wellbeing obligations and keep required training current.

Youre a practical inclusive OD practitioner who thrives on making good ideas real. Youre culturally grounded understand Te Tiriti o Waitangi and what culturally safe practice looks like in organisational development learning and change. Youre organised steady under pressure and you like backing your decisions with feedback and data. Above all you build trust quickly and follow through.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • A relevant qualification or 2 years experience in L&D learning design OD or HR.
  • Demonstrated experience applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice and delivering in culturally safe equityminded ways.
  • Confident group facilitation (introductory to intermediate) with strong coordination and basic project management.
  • Comfort with datainformed decisions; able to gather feedback and support simple analysis.
  • Proven experience building learning content in an LMS and maintaining accurate learning records.
  • Clear communicator who builds relationships across diverse groups; exposure to senior leaders is an advantage.
