About the Role:
As a Software Engineer on the Auth & Access team you will be an individual contributor delivering product roadmaps/technical roadmaps development. This role focuses on building and scaling the core services/ features that other JumpCloud products rely on.
You will be hands-on with our Go-based development and focus on building designing new APIs/services/backend/front end component developments scaling our infrastructure on AWS and enhancing the performance and reliability of our core directory services. Contribute to high-quality code but also participate heavily in design discussions mentor other engineers and take ownership of complex projects from start to services you would be building are the backbone of the JumpCloud platform directly impacting the security and productivity of thousands of organizations worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and implement highly scalable and reliable full-stack applications using Go Python and relevant front-end frameworks.
- Work extensively with AWS Cloud Services including but not limited to EC2 S3 Lambda DynamoDB RDS SQS and SNS.
- Manage and deploy containerized applications using Kubernetes ensuring high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with product managers UX/UI designers and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Write clean maintainable and well-documented code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality.
- Troubleshoot and debug production issues providing timely resolutions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tools.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends evaluating their potential impact on our products.
Qualifications:
- 6 years of professional experience in software development with a strong focus on full-stack development.
- Proven expertise in designing developing and deploying applications on AWS Cloud Services.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Proficiency in Python and with experience in relevant frameworks (e.g. Django Flask React Angular ).
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with serverless computing (AWS Lambda).
- Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
- Experience with front-end testing frameworks.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
- Strong hold with following programming languages
- Go Node Python
- Experienced with cloud services such as AWS & GCP
- Unit test automation
- Experienced in Kubernetes CI/CD pipelines Working with Microservice Architecture Micro Front-End
- Experienced in nosql DB such as MongoDB
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
- Experienced/knowledgeable in Authentication & Access Management related domain
- Experienced/knowledgeable with AI and related tools (Copilot Cursor)

Where youll be working/Location:
JumpCloud is committed to being Remote First meaning that you are able to work remotely within the country noted in the Job Description.
You must be located in and authorized to work in the country noted in the job description to be considered for this role.
Please note: There is an expectation that our engineers participate in on-call shifts. You will be expected commit to being ready and able to respond during your assigned shift so that alerts dont go unaddressed.
Language:
JumpCloud has teams in 15 countries around the world and conducts our internal business in English. The interview and any additional screening process will take place primarily in English.
