Reporting to the VP of Business Systems the Applications Services Manager oversees Birds enterprise software applications ensuring best practices effective team management and proper staffing to maintain and upgrade systems. They plan and coordinate processes for delivering user applications and systems critical to business operations.What Youll Be Working On
Strategy & Planning
Ensure that applications meet business requirements and systems goals fulfill end-user requirements and identify and resolve systems issues.
Review and analyze existing applications effectiveness and efficiency and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage best practices.
Establishes in consultation with the VP direction and management of IT/AS including planning and budgeting setting priorities coordinating and reporting of group activities.
Researches investigates advises and presents short-term and long-range planning ideas proposals and reports to the VP and/or client stakeholders
Acquisition & Deployment
Research and make recommendations on software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
Evaluate install configure develop and deploy new applications systems software products and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
Collaborate with analysts designers and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications.
Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.
Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements system compliance and interface specifications.
Design develop and install application enhancements and upgrades.
Contribute to pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals in order to identify potential problem areas and make the appropriate recommendations.
Collaborate with business analysts designers and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications.
Oversee application migrations performance testing modernization projects and support engagements using a global delivery model.
Liaise with companys software suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.
Operational Management
Manage and provide direction for the application services team in support of business operations.
Attract recruit and retain top talent in application architecture engineering and consulting.
Foster a culture of excellence innovation and customer focus.
Compile and maintain inventory of company software and systems assets and their corresponding contracts/agreements.
Design develop and install enhancements and upgrades to systems and application software.
Develop distribute and coordinate in-depth end-user reviews for modified and new systems or applications.
What We Are Looking For
A University degree or college diploma in the field of computer science and/or at least ten years of equivalent work experience and certifications in a construction business application environment
At least three (3) years managing an application support and development team
Strong interpersonal collaborative negotiation and written and oral communication skills with internal staff and clients external consultants vendors and contractors to communicate requirements status issues problems resolutions and contractual conditions
Direct hands-on experience with automated software management tools
Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies
Extensive experience with core software applications including Trimble ViewPoint InEight Suite Workday Microsoft Dynamics CRM and MS Power BI and SQL Server
Ability to prioritize plan organize establish and manage priorities schedules deadlines and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities and strong customer service orientation
Proficiency in Agile/Scrum and ITIL practices
Experience working in a team-oriented collaborative environment
