We are seeking a talented individual to join our UK Pensions Market team at Mercer. This role will be based in Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful team and make a meaningful impact on the future of major organisations. You will work within a team of 25 professionals who operate as an extension of the Wealth Investment Consulting teams at Mercer UK.

This team provides investment advice to clients across various segments including Defined Benefit and Local Governance pension schemes as well as Endowments and Foundations in the UK.

We are looking for a junior analyst eager to embark on a challenging medium to long-term journey towards the consultant role progressing through junior and associate levels. This individual will collaborate closely with consultants in both the UK and Portugal as well as with Investment specialist service teams to ensure that clients receive high-quality offer from Mercer.

We will count on you to:

  • Support senior analysts and consultants in providing advice to the asset portfolio throughout all stages of the investment cycle including setting the clients objectives and strategy.
  • Support consultants in drafting client presentations meeting agendas/minutes and any other required meeting materials.
  • Liaise closely with external investments managers and other third parties; as well as with internal teams such as Performance Reporting Transitions Research Actuarial.
  • Learn with peers and be proactive in meeting billable targets.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor/ Masters degree in engineering math actuarial science statistics economics finance management or related field.
  • Fluent in English (minimum C1 level).
  • A strong sense of ownership in your work consistently ensuring that standards and deadlines are met.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven analytical skills demonstrated through academic achievements.
  • Self-motivated with a genuine eagerness to contribute to the business and managing multiple tasks.
