OVERVIEW
Front Desk Hybrid team members are the first line of contact at all Barrys studios. As such they are well-versed in all aspects of our fitness program and business. They are key to providing superior customer service and assisting clients with class selections bookings Fuel Bar orders and questions; maintaining a clean studio including the Red Room reception and changing areas; and process merchandise purchases. We are looking for passionate hard-working reliable team-oriented and forward-thinking problem-solvers with outgoing interpersonal skills a love for health an excitement for our brand and the desire to be a part of building a stronger Barrys community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Experience:
- Ensure the Barrys vision is brought to life on a daily basis through embodying our values
- Ensure every client receives a best in class welcome to the studio including a personalised greeting and a goodbye when leaving
- Ensure all first timers are inducted thoroughly including a receiving a personalised introduction to Barrys step away from the desk guide them round the studio demonstrate the lockers and introduce them to the fuel bar
- Deliver exceptional service during a class sign in work quickly and efficiently whilst upholding our service standards
- Have a full understanding of our POS system and be able to process payments update records and make or amend bookings including private classes.
- Be proactive in handling complex client inquiries and delivering custom solutions to meet individual client needs seek help from studio management when necessary
- Use down time on desk to identify areas of opportunity for client outreach and community building
- Use the booking system to ensure all client milestones such as birthdays and class achievements are recognised
- Work with the instructor team to ensure classes start and finish on time and support with any technical difficulties such as sound or microphone malfunctions
- Understand any marketing initiatives and be proactive in ensuring these are executed effectively
- Communicate studio offerings promotions and special events supporting with bookings or sign ups when necessary
- Assist studio management with daily studio tasks and other projects as necessary
Fuel Bar Responsibilities:
- Deliver quality protein shakes and customer service in the Fuel Bar
- Handle pre-orders and post orders with a can-do attitude
- Assist clients with questions and product selection
- Complete clients orders in a timely manner utilising a POS transaction
- Maintain fuel bar department areas clean and sanitised and ensure relevant areas are restocked
- Follow departmental procedures for safety proper food handling and sanitation according to health code regulations
- Properly rotate merchandise in refrigerated coolers and department tables paying special attention to spoiling goods according to company policy
Facility Maintenance:
- Prepare studio spaces before after and in-between classes by cleaning exercise equipment sweeping mopping and/or vacuuming floors and wiping mirrors
- Regular deep cleaning organisation restocking and service of common areas including the reception space FuelBar retail shelves locker rooms hallways and storage areas
- Conduct small studio repairs when appropriate
- Laundry services including collecting washing and folding towels
- Adhere to daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance checklists
- Maintaining health and safety standards by inspecting and cleaning our shower areas e.g. floors tiles and cubicle doors between classes
- Use chemicals safely and effectively as trained using the correct chemicals for each job as per the cleaning schedule
- Ensure any equipment faults failure or maintenance issues are identified and reported to the Maintenance Technician or Studio Manager
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with both Company and legal requirements
Employees in this position are responsible for supporting and participating in the execution of studio operations and functions within the studio.
The following skills and abilities are necessary to carry out the above listed essential job duties of this position:
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work non-traditional hours including early mornings late evenings weekends and holidays.
- Required to work a minimum of 20 hours each week. Days of work are variable. You will be required to work on any day of the week and this will be determined by your manager in accordance with the needs of the business with at least one of those days being a Saturday or Sunday.
- Availability for at least two to five shifts each week.
- Ability to communicate effectively and in a time-sensitive manner
- Strong customer service skills with a can-do attitude and excellent communication skills
- Ability to prioritise and work within a fast-paced environment
- Friendly outgoing personality and enjoy social interaction professional in appearance and behaviour at all times
- Exceptional cleaning skills and a clear understanding of what constitutes a sanitary environment
- Have an eye for detail and care for the studios appearance and cleanliness
- Ability to kneel bend reach climb and stand for long durations of time.
- Ability to move and lift equipment and supplies of 30 pounds.
- Ability to routinely and consistently sit stand bend reach lift push pull 30 KG and to type speak read and write
- Ability to perform work on/using a telephone/computer
- Ability to read speak write effectively communicate verbally in writing in English with coworkers clients and/or vendors
- Work as a cohesive team with all Barrys staff members to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
- Maintain a professional appearance and behaviour
