Join us as a Concept Development Manager and youll be a big part of this.

Role Purpose: To develop new B&Qs store concepts from ideation through to BAU. The role needs to balance customer trends commercial performance and operational effectiveness to create concepts which are financially viable and deliver a step change in customer experience.

Whats the job

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Progress the development of retail concepts define clear blueprintsthat align with brand strategy customer expectations and market trends. Drive innovation in store formats experiential retail and omnichannel integration to enhance brand presence and commercial performance.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of retail concept initiativesfrom ideation and design through to pilot and handover. Ensure projects are delivered on time within budget and meet quality standards across design construction and operational readiness.
  • Leverage consumer behaviour data footfall analytics sales performance and market research to inform concept development. Use insights to validate design decisions optimize layouts and measure the impact of new retail formats.
  • Analyse the performance of all new concepts and assess viability of future projects
  • Measuring success via weekly reporting & comms. of the results to key stakeholders highlighting key data and providing and highlighting significant changes and implementing optimisation opportunities.
  • Liaising with category teams go to market and POS to ensure we are getting promotional POS fit for purpose and ensuring all T&Cs are adhered to
  • Work across the B&Q Commercial function to develop the offer and merchandising solutions to optimise the customer experience.
  • Work cross-functionally with commercial merchandising retail marketing and planogramming to implement identified changes inc external agencies to co-create compelling retail environments. Influence senior stakeholders and align diverse teams around shared goals and timelines.
  • Champion innovation in retail environments by embedding agile methodologies and continuous feedback loops. Identify opportunities for improvement in customer experience operational efficiency and sustainability across retail formats
  • Keep up to date with competitor stores and be an expert of new store trends
  • Drive the business to deliver new and improved customer propositions into our new concepts

Key Business Relationships:

  • Works with Strategy to understand future concept development and market opportunities
  • Works with the Customer team to build new innovative propositions for new stores
  • Works with the Commercial teams to develop new merchandising solutions to present product more effectively
  • Works with Finance to appraise the performance of new formats

What we need:

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience of delivering large scale change projects
  • Solid appreciation of commercial financial performance
  • Good communicator who can manage stakeholders across the business
  • Innovative and creative with the ability to bring to life new ideas
  • Driven and capable of working at pace
  • Will need to regularly travel to new stores
