Job Description

Mesa Energy Systems is a wholly owned subsidiary of EMCOR Group Inc. Mesa Energy Systems is a HVAC mechanical services company that provides fully integrated solutions for preventative maintenance and repair upgrading existing mechanical electrical and controls systems to provide the most efficient economic solutions to meet customer expectations.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer I

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform various tasks assigned by Senior Engineers and the Engineering Manager/Director.
  • Generate detailed schematics for HVAC systems based on instructions and pre-established guidelines.
  • Assist Mechanical Engineers by participating in job site surveys to gather as-built technical information.
  • Support senior engineers during audits and surveys as needed. Record identifying equipment function tags location capacities photos etc. Trace piping and ductwork onto field notes.
  • Convert field surveys into usable formats for plan and project development. Assist in planning to size replace and retrofit new equipment to replace aged or obsolete equipment. Use AutoCAD to develop plans.
  • Participate in the companys project improvement process by refining standard design practices calculating spreadsheet templates updating and establishing standard procedures and practices and collecting supporting documentation for various projects to be referenced for future projects.
  • Other duties may include copying/printing/scanning assembly of equipment submittal packages assistance in preparing work scope and other tasks as assigned.

Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements minimal experience computer skills required etc.)

  • Recent grad with a bachelors in mechanical engineering
  • 1 years of experience a plus.
  • In the process of obtaining the EIT/FE designation.
  • Develop a working knowledge of Permitting submittal requirements in the Mechanical field.
  • Computer-savvy willing and able to understand and learn new software programs. Developing proficiency in AutoCAD MS Office Suite and other related software applications.
  • Developing proficiency with energy simulation software. Increasing awareness of energy management concepts.
  • Increasing awareness of HVAC Systems and Components (Hot Water Chilled Water Condensing Water Chillers Fans Heat Pumps etc.)

Compensation Range: $35 - $40 per hour
