Key Responsibilities:
Platform Management: Overseeing the entire Power BI environment including the Power BI Service Power BI Desktop and associated tools. This involves managing tenant settings monitoring system health and optimizing performance.
User & Security Management: Managing user access roles and permissions within workspaces. This includes implementing row-level security (RLS) to ensure users only see the data theyre authorized to view as well as integrating with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) for user authentication and authorization.
Data Gateway & Refresh Management: Configuring and maintaining data gateways to connect Power BI to on-premises data sources. Theyre also responsible for scheduling and monitoring data refreshes to ensure reports and dashboards display up-to-date information.
Governance & Compliance: Implementing and enforcing governance policies best practices and security standards for the Power BI environment. This ensures data integrity compliance with regulations and consistent reporting across the organization.
Troubleshooting & Support: Acting as the first point of contact for platform issues including troubleshooting problems with data refreshes connectivity and report performance. They also provide technical guidance and support to end-users and report developers.
Capacity Planning & Licensing: Monitoring usage and performance metrics to manage capacity and resource allocation effectively. This includes managing user licenses (e.g. Power BI Pro Premium per User Premium) and planning for future growth.
Automation: Using scripting tools like PowerShell and the Power BI REST API to automate routine administrative tasks. This can include managing workspaces refreshing datasets and enforcing security policies.
Required Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience with PowerBI Infrastructure
Preferably with background in AWS and Data Warehousing
Preferably with experience/knowledgeable in Python and other SQL languages
Education / Certifications:
Bachelors Degree in ECE Computer Engineering Computer Science Information Technology or any IT / Computer-related course.
