Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Multi-Spindle Screw Machine Setter to join our team. This role involves the precise and skilled setup of multi-spindle screw machines (e.g. New Britain Wickman) based on provided drawings and process layouts. The Setter will be responsible for configuring machines tooling and fixtures to ensure efficient and accurate job execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up multi-spindle screw machines (New Britain Wickman etc.) for new production jobs from technical drawings and process sheets.
  • Accurately install and adjust tools collets cams gears and fixtures required for specific job requirements.
  • Perform initial test runs to verify accuracy and adjust settings accordingly.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors and engineering teams to optimize processes.
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues during setup and early production phases.
  • Ensure the highest level of quality and precision in finished products.
  • Provide guidance and support to machine operators when necessary.
  • Maintain detailed records of setups and adjustments for future reference.
  • Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and maintain a clean organized workspace.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience setting up multi-spindle screw machines particularly New Britain Wickman or similar equipment.
  • Strong understanding of machine operation tooling adjustments and process layouts.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings blueprints and specifications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision.
  • Problem-solving skills to quickly address and rectify setup and tooling issues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience mentoring or training operators.
  • Knowledge of machine maintenance and preventative care routines.
