About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Facility Engineer II to oversee the operation and maintenance of critical utility systems and general facility equipment within a large-scale battery manufacturing plant. This role ensures the reliability safety and efficiency of electricity compressed air water steam and HVAC systems while supporting production needs. The Facility Engineer II will also manage maintenance activities coordinate external contractors and drive improvements in energy efficiency and compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperate maintain and repair utility systems (electrical compressed air water steam HVAC) to ensure continuous and efficient performance.
Monitor utility consumption identify cost-saving opportunities and manage budgets to optimize efficiency.
Troubleshoot utility and facility maintenance issues; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Provide technical insights on processes materials and long-term planning for production support.
Select negotiate and manage contractors/vendors for maintenance repairs and upgrades.
Ensure safe and timely resolution of planned and unplanned outages to minimize production downtime.
Maintain accurate records of utility system performance compliance documentation work orders and maintenance schedules.
Report utility and facility performance data to senior management.
Support workplace organization and cleanliness in line with 5S3R standards (Sort Set in order Shine Standardize Sustain; Right Location Right Quantity Right Container).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelors degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering required.
Minimum of 3 years of facilities experience in a production or plant environment.
Preferred: Experience with PLC systems Six Sigma certification DOE (Design of Experiments) CAD or coding.
Ability to wear PPE (safety glasses steel-toed shoes) for up to 12 hours.
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally and perform physical tasks such as stooping twisting bending reaching overhead and standing for long periods.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Problem-solving and analytical abilities in technical environments.
