Speech Language PathologistThis position would report to the Assistant Director of Student ServicesDanvers Public Schools seeks a Speech Language Pathologist. This is a full-time position that will work extensively with students to improve communication in the areas of articulation expressive and receptive language fluency and augmentative communication skills. The Speech Language Pathologist will evaluate and diagnose students develop treatment goals and objectives and work closely with teachers to improve communication skills so that students can access the curriculum. The Speech Language Pathologist must possess knowledge of childhood speech and language development and communication disorders.Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluate diagnose provide written reports and determine student eligibility for communication services. Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans for students providing direct speech-language pathology services for students. Monitor student progress and complete progress reports in accordance with requirements. Present evaluation/assessment results at Team Meetings and develop goals and objectives for treatment plans. Communicate orally and in writing with students parents and others as needed. Work collaboratively with and provide consultation to teachers to assist students speech and language needs. Complete Medicaid logging monthly. Use a variety of instructional strategies appropriate for teaching students from diverse backgrounds with different learning styles and needs. Model effective speech and language therapy strategies and techniques. Attend monthly Speech and Language Therapy Department meetings. Communicates high standards and expectations for all students. Maintain a current knowledge of speech-language practices and related areas of special education.
