We are currently hiring a Mechanical Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) to join the Advanced Airframes Department of the Hardware organization located in Tucson Arizona. This role will provide engineering support to the Advanced Technology Business Unit. This role involves design integration and test of mechanical-focused hardware using computer-aided design and consistent coordination across teams to ensure successful hardware performance.
What You Will Do
Coordinates closely with the Program leadership on priorities effective communication of issues and schedule impacts and resolutions
Develop and maintain formal technical data package generation (engineering drawings models)
Support suppliers with product integration
Perform and review tolerance analyses to ensure form fit and function are as intended by design for the use-application.
Improve new and existing designs using Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) and Design for Producibility principles.
Work with suppliers for component part selections and developments to procure solutions that fit within design constraints and requirements
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior
relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Experience in CREO or similar CAD tool
Experience with engineering drawing standards
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Qualifications We Prefer
Ability to coordinate write and deliver technical briefs to both internal and external customers typically in CCB and ERB forums
Tow years experience performing mechanical design development and documentation of components sub-assemblies and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements.
