Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to lead the design development and implementation of automated systems within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for creating solutions that enhance production efficiency support process improvements and help achieve organizational productivity goals. The position involves collaboration across engineering teams and may include domestic and international travel for project work and training.
Key Responsibilities
Design implement and maintain automated manufacturing systems. Develop detailed technical documentation for automated processes and equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with automation hardware and software. Evaluate new technologies and processes to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. Monitor and analyze production data to support continuous improvement initiatives. Partner with cross-functional teams to address production challenges. Perform equipment qualifications including Installation Qualification (IQ) Operational Qualification (OQ) and System Qualification (SQ). Mentor and train other engineers and production staff on automation systems. Support the development of a growing automation team and share best practices across projects.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical field. 510 years of experience in automation engineering within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of automated systems PLC programming SolidWorks and software development. Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently. Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
Physical Requirements
Frequent repetitive tasks and standing. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. Exposure to moving equipment and machinery. Continuous use of safety glasses and full PPE. Occasional sitting walking pushing pulling and reaching.
