Job Description

The American Lung Association has an excellent opportunity for a Manager Health Promotions. Working as a member of the Health Promotion & Education department you will join an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through research education and advocacy.

The person in this role will manage implement and evaluate lung health programs throughout assigned market. Implement deliverables as provided by funder utilize Lung Association resources and programs that elevate outcomes and work with grant team to meet deliverables on time and within budget.

Location:The position can be located anywhere in Arizona and will be a hybrid of in-person and virtual work.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a multi-faceted team to meet deliverables of newly awarded Community Innovations grant.
  • Seek diverse partners statewide to build coalitions and support the efforts and outcomes of the work.
  • Work with evaluation team to measure outcomes and determine next steps to increase productivity year over year.
  • Recruit stakeholders to join a uniquely diverse membership in forming Arizonas Community Tobacco Council
  • Provide education communication and leadership to internal and external team partners.
  • Convene varied groups through cohorts meetings education sessions community education activities and more to give and receive perspective ideas and implementation strategies.
  • Build community support for commercial tobacco prevention and control efforts through community education communication plans and engaging diverse communities.
  • Promote the work and educate communities through website build-out newsletters hosting events and more.
  • Research identify and submit grant opportunities that align with strategic imperatives. Include staff members to contribute perspective experience and implementation ideas while learning grant writing skills.
  • Provide oversite of signature and grant funded program implementation improvements evaluation consistency and sustainability.
  • Responsible for health promotion outcomes related to the grant and throughout assigned territory as necessary.
  • Organize coordinate and submit all required American Lung Association and funder reports.
  • Collaborate with external community partners to integrate and expand signature programs.
  • Supervise and support team members as assigned.
  • Identify emerging health promotions issues and trends.
  • Ensure maintenance of point-of-contact with funder(s) to ensure ongoing and productive lines of communication.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree preferred. Alternatively a bachelors degree in Public Health Health Promotion or related field required with a minimum of five years of management level programing experience.
  • Two years of similar non-profit programming experience highly preferred
  • Project management and leadership capabilities
  • Demonstrated success in grant writing grant management and budget management skills
  • Proven ability to work throughout diverse populations and through a health equity lens
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to details
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have a valid Drivers license and your own reliable transportation with the ability to travel within assigned area 10% of the time for meetings and conferences as well as the flexibility to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends with some overnights required.
  • Required to travel statewide for providing technical assistance meetings and conferences as required by assigned grants.
  • Ability to lift approximately 25 lbs.
  • Consistent with its mission the American Lung Association maintains a smoke-free workplace; all employees must abstain from tobacco or vaping in any form including vaping.

Compensation: Exact compensation may vary based on skills experience and location. The target hiring range for this position is between $57200 and $64500 per annum.

  • Paid Leave - 10 vacation days in the first year (15 days thereafter) 2 personal days and 15 sick days per year as well as 12 company-paid holidays per year. We also offer Paid Parental Leave for eligible employees.
