Job Summary

Silicon Valley International School (INTL) is seeking a caring energetic and student-focused individual to join our Upper School as Education Support Staff. This position is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive connections with middle and high school students and who takes pride in supporting their growth and well-being in a multicultural learning community.

In this role the Education Support Staff will provide supervision and guidance during after-school hours helping to ensure a safe structured and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate is responsible adaptable and collaborative with the ability to engage students while also managing logistics and supporting the daily flow of school life. A genuine enthusiasm for working with students and a commitment to INTLs mission are essential.

This is a part-time (31% FTE) non-exempt academic-year position that does not qualify for benefits. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday from 3:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. totaling 10 hours per week. The work calendar follows student attendance meaning the position is not scheduled during school breaks including winter spring fall and summer unless otherwise approved. While these breaks are unpaid employment status remains active and continuous.

Compensation

The compensation for this position is $29.00 per hour.

Your Responsibilities During the Academic Year

During the school year you will report directly to the Assistant Dean of Students and support both the Middle School and High School during our after-school this role you will:

  • Supervise students during the end-of-day dismissal process including Study Hall and dismissal
  • Supervise the Middle School after-school study hall
  • Assist with enforcing school policies and ensuring that students are safe and in the correct place
  • Provide logistical support for after-school activities and events
  • Support clubs and student council activities as needed
  • Help de-escalate and resolve student conflicts in a calm respectful and solutions-oriented manner
  • Act as a consistent and professional presence serving as a positive role model for students
  • Collaborate with faculty administrators and support staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment
  • Remain informed about and aligned with school protocols expectations and behavioral standards

Your ability to build relationships with students while maintaining professional boundaries will be essential. Youll be expected to model maturity responsibility and respect helping students feel supported and held to high standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with school-aged children
  • Ability to work in a team setting
  • Working with children and youth involves extensive physical activity mental alertness and enthusiasm; having good general health and emotional stability is essential.
  • Ability to move quickly to address emergency or potentially dangerous situations
  • Fluency in English for collaboration with colleagues and communication with students
  • Bilingual preferably in either French Chinese or German
