Software Engineer II GPS/Agent Experience - ServiceHub
Please note that this is a hybrid role based in Boston MA and will require you to work in the office on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The salary range for this position is $150500 - $161500 per year. The base salary offered may vary depending on location job-related knowledge skills and experience. Restricted stock units will also be provided as part of the compensation package.
Who We Are
The GPS/Agent Experience ServiceHub team is dedicated to building and improving the internal tools that Wayfairs customer service agents use every day. Our goal is to make these tools more intuitive reliable and efficient which in turn leads to better agent engagement and higher customer satisfaction. As a team we focus on refining workflows surfacing important customer information and reducing friction in daily support interactions within ServiceHub our agent-facing platform.
What Youll Do
- Own the design and hands-on building of applications that are reliable scalable and easy to maintain.
- Ensure the quality of engineering direction across multiple teams within the organization.
- Contribute to architectural and code review discussions that impact our engineering ecosystem.
- Define standards to raise the bar for the teams youll be working with.
- Collaborate with leads and engineers across multiple teams to solve a wide variety of business and technical problems.
- Ensure our systems are properly documented.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the Wayfair engineering organization.
Basic Qualifications
- 3 years of transferable software development experience in a corporate environment.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or another related technical discipline.
- 2-3 years of professional experience in front-end development using ReactJS and modern JavaScript (ES6).
- Strong understanding of HTML CSS3 TypeScript and responsive design principles.
- Proven knowledge and experience working with object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience or exposure to SQL and Java.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating front-end components with REST APIs or GraphQL services.
- Solid understanding of front-end state management patterns (e.g. Redux Context API).
- Experience with backend technologies such as Java (Spring Boot) and writing or debugging SQL queries.
- Basic understanding of containerized deployment environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS GCP or Azure is a plus.
- Knowledge of modern development tools and build systems (Webpack Babel NPM/Yarn).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across teams.
