JOB SUMMARY: The figure animation intern will provide general support for the Figure Animation Team. Most of our work revolves around rigging and animating using Autodesk Maya. The FA Team provides aesthetic and technical direction for development of animatronic figures and related show elements and interfaces closely with many other attraction development disciplines.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide digital design and general support to the Figure Animation team.
- The intern will be assigned to an FA Animator or Sr FA Animator to support UC project tasks as directed.
- Most digital design tasks involve working with Autodesk Maya on character rigging and/or animation.
- The intern will be expected to attend meetings and work with other team member and vendor partners to solve problems related to Figure Animation development as directed by their Mentor.
*All applicants for this position should submit a sample reel specifically showcasing work related to character animation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- In pursuit of an Associate Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
- A transcript is required upon application.
- Character animation and/or character rigging experience.
- Experience with Autodesk Maya.
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Preferred majors include: Animation
- Preferred coursework completed: Character Animation
Please note the following:
- This internship will be an in-person experience based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university and must have a graduation date later than August 2026.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
- All of our internships are paid and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
