PTS Advance is looking for a Heater Coordinator for a 3-monthT/A in Martinez CA. This position is responsible for managing the maintenance inspection and repair of fire heaters and furnaces. This role is a vital part of ensuring that this critical equipment operates safely reliably and efficiently especially during scheduled plant shutdowns known as turnarounds.
Coordinators will work for two weeks starting 12/8 theyll be off for the holidays then back 1/3/26 for the main event should be through 2/11/26.
Pay rate:$73.00 hr. - $120/day per diem 7 days a week.
Start date: 12/8/2025
Hours: 6 days a week /10 hr. days.
Key responsibilities
- Maintenance coordination: They plan and schedule all maintenance activities for heaters and furnaces. This includes routine upkeep as well as major repairs that require the unit to be taken offline.
- Turnaround planning: During a refinery turnaround planned shutdown for maintenance and upgrades-the Heater Coordinator is crucial for developing and executing detailed work scopes for all heater-related tasks.
- Safety and compliance: The coordinator ensures all work adheres to strict safety regulations and industry standards such as those set by API ASME and OSHA to prevent accidents and ensure integrity of the equipment.
- Contractor management: They oversee third-party contractors and inspection crews who perform specialized tasks such as refractory inspections tube thickness measurements and pressure testing.
- Performance monitoring: The role involves tracking heater performance efficiency and emissions to identify potential problems and maintenance needs before they can cause a breakdown.
- Documentation and reporting: The coordinator maintains detailed records of maintenance history inspection reports and performance data. They also provide regular updates to management on the status of all heater-related work.
- Troubleshooting: They provide technical support to operations teams especially during startup and shutdown procedures to address any issues that arise with the fired equipment.
Qualifications
To be a successful Heater Coordinator an individual typically needs:
- 5 years of experience working with fired equipment in a refinery or petrochemical setting.
- Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities and work with various teams.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) like SAP or Maximo.
- A high school diploma or equivalent with a technical degree preferred.
