The Mission Solutions Business Area at Leidos seeks physicists who can lead and perform research and development efforts. This position will be responsible for R&D activities that support data analytics as well as modeling and simulation efforts. R&D activities span various scientific disciplines and technologies.
A successful applicant is expected to be able to convert scientific theory to specific applications of interest.
The applicant should also be able to mentor other staff members and lead teams working on R&D projects.
The applicant is also expected to write project proposals to the customer as needed.
Working knowledge of IT systems is also required.
Required Education Skills and Experience:
Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI or a Top Secret clearance with a current SSBI and be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI w/ poly level clearance
Ph.D. or equivalent in a science discipline and 15 years of experience
10 years experience in the intelligence and/or DoD communities
5 years experience with software development
Ability to work closely with users to design build prototype and deploy software systems within highly managed government environments
Experience using Word PowerPoint and other MS Office tools to create documents and briefings
Ability to work individually as well as within a larger team construct
Excellent technical writing communication and customer relation skills
Highly detail-oriented
Adept at working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to resolve complex unclear problems and issues with research and nontraditional solutions
Ability to perform threat and vulnerability analyses
Program/project management skills
Desired Technical Qualifications:
Understanding of physics as applied in geo-technologies
Understanding of cyber technology
