Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Clinical Medical Physicist to join a collegial team of physicists in Newport News VA. This role involves planning QA and direct supervision of stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) SBRT and Gamma Knife treatments as well as collaboration with neurosurgeons and radiation oncologists. The ideal candidate has a strong background in clinical radiation therapy physics with applied experience in quality assurance and advanced treatment planning systems.
Primary Responsibilities:

Direct physics consultation with attending physicians

Design treatment plans for stereotactic programs

Perform patient-specific QA

Direct supervision of all SRS / SBRT simulations and treatments

Coordinate with neurosurgeons and radiation oncologists on imaging and planning goals

Perform quality control activities for equipment maintenance and calibration

Ensure adherence to standards regulations and company policies

Utilize Eclipse ARIA Mosaiq Varian EDGE Linear Accelerators Siemens simulation/imaging equipment and Gamma Knife radiosurgery components

Provide routine therapy physics services and problem-solve complex patient-specific situations

Qualifications & Skills:
-
Minimum 5 years applied clinical radiation therapy physics experience

ABR Certified (American Board of Radiology) or ABMP in Therapeutic Radiological Physics

Experience in SRS / SBRT and Gamma Knife radiosurgery

Strong quality assurance skills
-
Knowledgeable in state federal and professional regulations

Excellent communication organization and problem-solving abilities

Attention to detail and ownership of daily tasks and projects
