Work schedule may extend beyond regular office hours of 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday as needed to complete assignments. Seasonal evening and weekend work may be required to meet the orientation needs of students and their families during heavy programming times from May - August. Seasonal in-state and out of state travel to professional development and recruitment events is required.

About this Position
The Coordinator assists the Assistant Director in development and execution of high-quality orientation programming initiatives for new freshmen transfers and their families. Coordinates Family Programming during orientation as well as resource development logistical coordination and campus collaboration. Directly recruits hires trains supervises and mentors a large student staff (Orientation Leaders). Responsible for leading student leadership program development. Directly supervises one full-time professional and co-supervisors one Graduate Teaching Assistant. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
Three years related work experience
Post-secondary education may substitute for experience
- Certifications Registrations and/or Licenses:
valid drivers license
- Skills Proficiencies and/or Knowledge:
Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office suite. Human relations and communication skills as well as proven leadership and collaboration abilities. Strong public speaking skills and experience. Experience working in a higher education setting which could include time as a student. Some nights and weekends required as necessary during peak orientation and event season. Travel related to professional development in and out of state as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters
Higher Education College Student Development or related field.
3 years experience working with college student development advising teaching or training. Knowledge of student development theories. Experience in cross campus collaborative environments. Successful experiences with student leadership and orientation programming.
- Skills Proficiencies and/or Knowledge:
Experience with enhancing student leader mentorship and development programming. Exceptional public speaking skills. Prior leadership experience in orientation program development and related industry standards.
