Job Summary:

The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organizations HR team.

Full Time Hourly: $48000-$52000 per year

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS) and similar computer applications.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field or 1-3 years of experience in a HR role that involves recruiting onboarding/training employee relations and managing regulatory and compliance issues.
  • PHR/SPHR certification or SHRM-Certified Professional is preferred must be able to obtain a certification within the first 6 months.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides clerical support to the HR team.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants relative to standard policies benefits hiring processes etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Post job openings on behalf of clients review resumes conduct phone screens and coordinate interviews.
  • Prepare onboarding materials and assist with new hire paperwork and compliance requirements.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • May assist with payroll functions including processing answering employee questions fixing processing errors and distributing checks.
  • Assist with compliance tracking (I-9s background checks required postings training logs etc.).
  • Support in researching employment law and HR compliance updates for clients.
  • Conduct HR-related research (benchmarking best practices employment laws).
  • Assist with drafting recommendations policies and project deliverables.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently stand bend stretch and walk for long periods of time. Vision requirements include color vision reading a computer monitor managing a cellular device. The employee must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Work EnvironmentWork is frequently performed inside a temperature-controlled facility. Level of noise varies in this fast-paced busy work environment.
