Position Summary
Are you passionate about helping small businesses grow and thrive As a Business Advisor (Mandarin Chinese Speaker) at Renaissance you will play a critical role in supporting entrepreneurs in Flushing and across NYC. Youll work closely with small business owners to provide counseling access to capital and ongoing guidance that helps them succeed. This is a chance to use your business finance and community knowledge to make a real difference while advancing your career in economic development and lending.
Reporting to the Senior Business Advisor/Team Leader you will build trusted relationships with small business clients package loan applications and provide hands-on business coaching. Youll also serve as a connector between local entrepreneurs and the resources they need to grow sustainably.Key Responsibilities

We serve the New York Metro Area including New York City Long Island the Mid-Hudson Valley and New Jersey.
We are US Treasury certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Small Business Administration (SBA) Intermediary Microlender and SBA Community Advantage (7a) lender.

- Salary range: $55000 $70000 commensurate with experience.

- Build strong trust-based relationships with small business owners community organizations and referral partners.
- Provide one-on-one counseling to help clients understand financials cash flow and growth strategies.
- Assist clients in preparing complete loan application packages for REDC underwriting.
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of small business loans offering continued guidance and support post-funding.
- Conduct site visits to better understand client operations and business needs.
- Lead and facilitate workshops for entrepreneurs on topics like financial literacy business planning and growth strategies.
- Maintain accurate client records in Salesforce and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Actively participate in outreach events and community engagement to strengthen REDCs presence in Flushing.
- Bachelors degree OR equivalent experience in business finance or community development.
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English (written and spoken).
- 2 years of experience in small business counseling lending economic development or entrepreneurship.
- Hands-on experience running or supporting a small business (formal or informal).
- Strong knowledge of local businesses and community resources in Flushing.
- Excellent communication relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with finance/accounting principles is a plus.
- Proficiency in Salesforce Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
- Ability to multitask manage time effectively and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to working with diverse communities and low-to-moderate-income entrepreneurs.
- Willingness to travel within NYC (Flushing Manhattan and occasionally other boroughs).
