Basic Function: | To coordinate regional campus library and academic learning commons system operations in alignment with University Libraries. Responsibilities include overseeing library public services resource sharing collection management coordinating shared services and space management and design. Facilitates the shared work of library/learning commons faculty and staff across the regional campus system as well as serve as a member of the leadership team of University Libraries based at the Kent Campus. The senior director may be directly responsible for one or more of the regional campus library/learning commons campus locations. Reports to the Vice President for Regional Campuses with secondary report to the Dean of University Libraries. |

Examples of Duties: | Duties/essential functions may include but not be limited to the following: Convene and lead the regional campus system library/learning commons faculty and staff on a regular basis. Serve as the primary liaison between the regional campus system library/learning commons and Kent-based University Libraries. Manage one or more regional campus library/learning commons locations. Propose and coordinate implementation of policies and procedures to ensure consistency across regional campus library/learning commons in alignment with Kent-based University Libraries. Participate in hiring and training of library/learning commons staff. Coordinate shared services initiatives across the regional campus library/learning commons system. Promote library/learning commons services and programs. Collaborate with University Libraries on the management of library collections. Coordinate the design delivery and evaluation of information literacy and library instruction. Provide reference and research assistance. Prepare reports records and statistics related to library/learning commons impact and effectiveness. Coordinate professional development for regional campus library/learning commons system faculty and staff. Serve on campus library system regional campus system and university committees. May directly supervise of faculty staff and/or student employees. Perform related duties as assigned. |

Minimum Qualifications: | Master of Library Science Master of Library Information Science or related degree. Five years experience in an academic library or similar environment.
