Job Summary

Job Summary

The People & Culture Generalist provides comprehensive People & Culture (P&C) support to the hourlyworkforce across retail cafeteria (Kanteen) and workplace services and safety management. This rolecombines broad HR generalist responsibilitiesincluding employee relations recruitment support HRsystems management compliance and workforce planningwith business partnership to frontlinemanagers. The HR Generalist serves as a resource for employees and managers ensuring fair andconsistent application of policies improving processes and enhancing the employee experience.

Essential Functions

Description

  • Employee Relations: Serve as the primary P&C contact for Retail Kanteen and Workplace Services & Safety Management providing guidance on workplace policies scheduling and employee concerns. Advises managers on handling employee relations issues fairly and consistently.
  • Business Partnership: Builds strong relationships with frontline managers to understand operational challenges and provide proactive HR support.
  • HR Systems & Data Management: Maintains and optimizes HRIS and ATS systems ensuring accurate data entry and reporting. Analyzes workforce trends and providing insights to support decision-making.
  • Recruitment Support: Partners with hiring managers to facilitate job requisitions ensure job postings are optimized and support employer branding efforts. Identifies opportunities to improve ATS functionality and hiring workflows.
  • Organizational Support: Supports organizational structure and workforce planning by maintaining org charts compiling key documentation for organizational changes and advising leadership on workforce trends and optimizations.
  • Employee Experience & Engagement: Conducts exit interviews compiles data and identifies trends to support retention and engagement efforts.
  • Process & Program Support: Contributes to continuous improvement efforts within HR operations talent acquisition and workforce planning by identifying efficiencies and supporting implementation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field or combination of education and experience preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in Human Resources

Any equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform theessential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Solid understanding of human resources principles practices and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of local state and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines handle multiple tasks concurrently and be adaptable tonew assignments systems and tools.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint)and Internet.
  • Process oriented capable of understanding defining and following processes with a strongattention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and proprietary information with a high degree ofdiscretion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to build rapport with department team members and co-workers across the organization.
  • Ability to maintain hybrid work schedule and report to the office in Portland OR 4 days and weekwith flexibility for events.

Base Salary:$77500 - $84900 yearly

This range represents the low and high ends of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as experience knowledge skills and location. Our base salary is just one component of our competitive total rewards strategy which includes numerous benefits and perks as well as specific health and welfare benefits.
