As a Business Control Specialist I in the team of Operational Design Control and Resilience (ODCR ING the Netherlands) you will support the operational monitoring and control execution of ING Owned Bank Accounts (IOBAs) and SuspenseAccounts (SAs) across ING NL. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate reconciliation documentation and control evidencing to maintain compliance and reduce operational risk. This role is foundational to the teams ability to deliver high-quality assurance services and maintain INGs operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Monitoring & Control Execution
- As a local control executor you will perform control monitoring of ING Owned Bank Accounts in accordance with the IOBA Minimum Control Standards and SA Financial Regulatory Regulation.
- Work in close collaboration with the Center of Expertise in ODCR Finance experts and Business owners to monitor the accounts for meeting compliant requirements.
- Support facilitate and advise the business domains in operationally monitoring the accounts for instance to enable the business to perform correct and compliant reconciliation and journalization of the IOBAs transactions including ledger matching and specifications delivery monthly.
- Execute quarterly sign-offs and yearly risk assessments for designated accounts to ensure compliance of the control standards in practice.
- Maintain oversight of suspense accounts including aging analysis and specification reporting.
- Collaborate with Finance and Business to ensure control execution aligns with expectations and policy requirements.
Process & Reporting
- Ensure all control activities are documented and stored in centralized platforms.
- Deliver quarterly reports on account status findings and control effectiveness.
- Support the transition to standardized and automated reconciliation tools (e.g. DUCO Intellimatch).
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and proposing solutions.
- Monitor the effectiveness and compliant of the controls and make suggestions where needed to the business owners to stay compliant to the control standards.
