Job Description

St Lukes Radiation Oncology Network (SLRON).

Whereas the post location is in SLRON the purpose and principle roles & responsibilities of the proton coordinator is for the national service. Whereas there is growing expertise in proton clinical knowledge and proton treatment planning currently proton treatment is not delivered in Ireland. Patient cases identified across Ireland are discussed at a multi-disciplinary national proton panel patients following which selected patients attend treatment abroad.

St. Lukes Radiation Oncology Network (SLRON) operates across three sites St. Lukes Radiation Oncology Centre at St. Lukes Hospital St. Lukes Radiation Oncology Centre at St. Jamess Hospital and St. Lukes Radiation Oncology Centre at Beaumont Hospital.

St. Lukes Radiation Oncology Network is dedicated to being a world class leader in cancer treatment patient care research and striving for this excellence the holistic needs of our patients and their families are our greatest concern.

Multidisciplinary teams consisting of medical nursing health and social care professionals management and general support staff work together in the development delivery monitoring and evaluation of services within the hospital.

This is a SLRON network role fulfilling a national remit. The initial base site for the role which sits within the radiation services department is determined at contracting stage.

The successful candidate must fulfil general clinical specialist duties at their base site.
