Monthly Remuneration:AUD8040 inclusive of superannuation

Duration:Initial contract to 31 March 2026 with an extension until 31 March 2029

This Opportunity

Managed by Abt Global the Specialist Health Service (SHS) provides strategic input on health to the Australian Governments Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

The SHS is the primary source from which DFAT accesses health and development expertise and advisory services to improve the quality of health programming across DFATs global and regional health portfolio through enabling access to responsive technical advice and support.

Specific Duties:

The Finance and Administration Officer will provide general program finance and office administration support to the Specialist Health Services daily operations. The Finance and Administration Officer will be responsible for:

Finance

  • Entry of all program contract budgets into NetSuite (financial management system) including approval matrix
  • Reconcile all financial documents for payment (i.e. purchase requests purchase orders invoices and receipts) and check for completeness and accuracy
  • Preparation of correctly rendered contractor client invoices
  • End of Month finance processes including payroll management checks
  • Raise Purchase Orders as required and bill accordingly
  • Monitor and track all transactions in consultation with SHS Operations Manager to ensure that adequate funds are available at all times
  • Assist in drafting budgets and contracts
  • Assist HR Manager with monthly payroll report checks
  • Assist with PERFORMS DFATs online contract reporting tool to track measure and demonstrate progress and value for money in collaboration with Abt Globals head office

Administration

  • Provide general program administration support and assistance to the SHS team
  • Assist with adviser travel requirements as required
  • Undertake any other reasonable administrative duties as required including backstopping Operations Manager when on leave

Key Requirements:

We are seeking an individual who will bring:

  • 2 - 5 years relevant experience in finance and administration or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Familiarity with oracle financial management systems (i.e. NetSuite or equivalent)
  • High level communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to write clearly concisely and quickly in English
  • Intermediate advanced MS office skills (i.e. word excel and outlook)
  • Ability to operate effectively in a small team contributing positively to team operations and working relationships
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills attention to detail and willingness to work in a busy high-volume environment requiring multi-tasking prioritising and managing shifting priorities
