Job Summary:

The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full-time Psychologist for the Transplant team at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora CO. We collaborate closely with a broad range of clinical departments at the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) to provide integrated behavioral health care in primary and specialty medical settings. Our Department is committed to hiring a health or rehabilitation psychologist with competencies to provide interprofessional clinical services on the Consultation Liaison (CL) Service University of Colorado Hospital (UCH). This position would provide CL services with a broad range of inpatient medical surgical and ICU units. The psychologist in this role will also be a team member of the Department of Psychiatrys Adult Division Integrated Behavioral Health Service as well as the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service at UCH.

The selected candidate will become part of the Department of Psychiatrys growing and dynamic Adult Division.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct psychological evaluations with live organ donors when CL psychologists need to cover the Transplant Service. Evaluations includes interviews and appropriate testing to rule out contraindications for donation. Initial consultation evaluations and follow ups as requested for safety evaluations diagnostic clarification and questions of decision-making capacity.

Conduct brief psychological screening assessment consultation of patients on intensive care units (ICUs) individual therapy with adult medical/surgical inpatients as well as evidenced-based treatment to patients and families coping with acute chronic and life-threatening illness.

Provide behavioral pain management interventions to patients on medical and surgical inpatient units; provide trauma-informed care to adults on medical/surgical units and work with interprofessional teams to deliver trauma-informed interventions.

Consult and colla borate with interprofessional team members to develop intervention strategies related to physical and psychosocial challenges; Assist with patient unit and staff relational dynamics and provide recommendations to help in cases with challenging patient interactions.

Provide trauma-informed care to adults on medical/surgical units; work with interprofessional teams to deliver trauma-informed interventions; cognitive and psychological screening/ testing when indicated.

Attend and participate in interprofessional Transplant selection committee meetings if covering this service. Develop educational activities for interprofessional providers and staff on inpatient units in conjunction with psychiatry attendings on CL service. Develop metrics and QI plans for C/L service in conjunction with psychiatry attendings on C/L service. Participate in training Department of Psychiatry Post-Doctoral Fellows in Clinical Health Psychology other psychology trainees as well as Residents and Fellows in specialty clinical Departments.

Demonstrate competence in diversity of all patients families and colleagues with respect to race ethnicity sexual orientation age gender gender identity ability status religion political beliefs socioeconomic status and any other factors related to systemic oppression.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Instructor: $105000 to $120000

Senior Instructor: $105000 to $120000

Assistant Professor: $105000 to $120000

Associate Professor: $130000 to $155000

Professor: $175000 to $205000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
