Description

Methodist University is seeking a faculty member to join our team of energetic collaborative and motivated faculty in the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program in the College of Health Sciences and Human Services.

The DPT Program invites applicants for a 12-month full-time tenure-track faculty position. The faculty members primary teaching responsibilities will be in Biomechanics and Movement Analysis as well as research addition to teaching the position requires scholarship and service responsibilities and offers the opportunity for clinical practice time.

Methodist University is a private comprehensive institution grounded in the liberal arts tradition. The Program is in the Thomas R. McLean Health Sciences Building. The 38800-square-foot contemporary facility features dedicated classroom space and research facilities including a Gait and Motion Analysis Laboratory a Human Performance Laboratory a Motor Control Lab and a Mobility Courtyard enabling faculty to pursue research agendas and direct student research projects.

Qualifications

Preferred candidates will hold an earned doctoral degree (Ph.D. Ed.D. . or equivalent) or be actively enrolled in a terminal academic program. Individuals with a DPT and a commitment to pursuing a terminal academic degree will also be considered. Candidates should demonstrate a record of scholarly publications or presentations an ongoing scholarly agenda and prior teaching experience.

Applicants should be prepared to teach foundational and applied sciences as well as physical therapy management courses with particular emphasis on biomechanics movement analysis and research.

Candidates must be Physical Therapists eligible for licensure in the State of North Carolina at the time of employment. Preference will be given to applicants with ABPTS specialist certification ABPTRFE residency or fellowship training and/or prior DPT program teaching experience.
