Position Overview
We are seeking a committed and capable Long-Term Substitute Teacher to provide consistent and effective instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The substitute will assume full instructional responsibilities including lesson delivery classroom management grading communication with parents and collaboration with colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lessons aligned to the established curriculum and daily schedule
- Maintain a positive inclusive and respectful classroom environment
- Implement accommodations and modifications for students with IEPs 504s or intervention plans
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records (grades attendance behavior logs)
- Communicate regularly with families administrators and support staff
- Collaborate with grade-level or content-area teams
- Manage classroom behavior using school-wide expectations and procedures
- Participate in required meetings training and school events as needed
- Submit lesson plans and student work samples as directed
Qualifications
- Associates degree required or enrolled in a Teacher Education Program.
- Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to follow established routines and adjust to new environments
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment
