Job Summary
Summary:
An established power systems and marine/industrial services company is looking to hire a Controller to work out of their Fort Lauderdale office. The company provides engine maintenance repair and overhaul services across the marine energy industrial and defense sectors nationwide. The company is seeking a Controller to join their growing team and oversee financial operations across multiple business units.
Responsibilities:
* Lead financial management for East Coast operations and ensure the accuracy of financial statements which include P&L and balance sheets.
* Manage the forecasting and budgeting process while conducting variance analysis to provide actionable insights into business performance.
* Work closely with executive leadership to uncover business trends assess risks and opportunities and offer strategic data-informed guidance.
* Design and execute financial plans that promote sustainable growth cost efficiency and operational scalability in a post-merger environment.
* Evaluate key performance indicators and other business metrics to support informed decisions around investments operations and resource planning.
* Coordinate with teams across operations sales and corporate finance to ensure financial goals are aligned with broader business strategies.
* Support the CFO with high-level strategic initiatives including the creation of materials for board meetings and investor communications.
Qualifications:
* 10 years of finance and/or accounting experience with business controller or FP&A responsibilities.
* Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or Business is required.
* Must have prior experience private-equity or high-growth startup environment industrial or marine experience preferred.
* History of driving profitability through strategic cost management margin enhancement and operational efficiencies.
* Advanced skills in financial forecasting modeling and analysis with the ability to convert complex data into strategic insights.
Preferred:
* MBA or professional certifications (CPACFACMA).
* Experience with ERP systems and BI tools (preferably Dynamics or Power BI).
