Job Title: Deputy General Manager Procurement

Position Overview

The Deputy General Manager Procurement will lead the design and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives ensuring cost efficiency and supply reliability. They will develop procurement policies oversee vendor relationships and drive continuous improvement across the procurement function. This role demands a combination of strategic insight operational excellence and strong leadership to support the companys growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including supplier evaluation negotiation and contract management.
• Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify cost-saving opportunities and emerging suppliers.
• Manage the supplier qualification process performance monitoring and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with finance and operations to establish budget forecasts and control procurement spend.
• Optimize procurement processes and systems to enhance efficiency and transparency.
• Ensure compliance with company policies industry regulations and ethical sourcing standards.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing procurement team fostering cross-functional collaboration.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve measurable cost reductions and quality enhancements.

Reporting and Collaboration

The Deputy General Manager Procurement will report to the Sr GM Procurement and collaborate closely with Finance Operations Teams and Legal. They will serve as a key advisor on supply-side matters drive cross-functional initiatives and present procurement insights to the executive leadership team.

Location

This position is based at our headquarters in Mumbai Maharashtra. Travel up to 20% may be required to visit supplier sites attend industry events and support pan India Airport requirements

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors degree in supply chain management Business Administration Engineering or a related field.
• Masters degree or MBA in Procurement Operations or Supply Chain preferred.
• Minimum of 1012 years of progressive procurement experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience of FMCG firms will be preferred
• Proven track record of delivering strategic sourcing projects and significant cost savings.
• Demonstrated experience with global supplier networks and complex contract negotiations.
• Strong understanding of procurement best practices category management and supplier risk assessment.
