Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. (Evenings weekends and holidays as needed for emergencies and client support)
Pathways to Life Inc. is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Substance Abuse Professional to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT). This role provides specialized expertise in substance use and dual diagnosis treatment to support individuals with severe mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.
The ideal candidate is compassionate highly skilled in substance use interventions and passionate about working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery and community integration.
Position SummaryThe ACTT Substance Abuse Professional serves as an integral part of the therapeutic team providing substance abuse education assessment and treatment strategies tailored to the unique needs of each client. This position plays a vital role in supporting recovery by integrating behavioral health and substance use treatment to address co-occurring disorders.
This position requires availability for 24/7 crisis response and active participation in the creation of safe person-centered treatment environments.

Education:
Bachelors or Masters degree in a human services field.
Must meet the qualifications for Qualified Professional as defined by 10A NCAC 27.G.0104 N.C.
Certifications:
Must hold one of the following active credentials:
CCS Certified Clinical Supervisor
CCAS Certified Clinical Addictions Specialist
CSAC Certified Substance Abuse Counselor
Experience:
Experience in substance abuse treatment co-occurring disorders or integrated dual disorder treatment (IDDT).
Familiarity with crisis intervention and 24/7 on-call responsibilities.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of motivational interviewing cognitive behavioral approaches and relapse prevention strategies.
Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Regularly required to walk stand sit bend or stoop.
Occasionally lift carry push or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Drive regularly to various community locations and client homes.
Work occurs in office environments client homes and community-based settings.
Exposure to contagious illnesses and potentially volatile or high-risk situations requiring crisis de-escalation skills.
Requires flexible scheduling including evenings weekends and holidays as well as participation in on-call rotation.
