SUMMARY
Performs moderately complex administrative and staff support work for non-managerial personnel or line managers of single functions. Duties are recurring and are carried out according to well established procedures. This position requires the ability to provide exceptional customer service multitask recognize exceptions to procedures the initiative to review procedure exceptions with senior staff members or supervisors or the judgment to make minor deviations to adapt the procedures or to select which of several established alternatives to use.
Positions allocated to this classification typically report to a non-managerial supervisor (e.g. Executive Assistant Senior) or a line manager of a single function and work under general to close supervision. Work in this class is distinguished from higher classes by its recurring moderately-complex non-supervisory nature and from lower classes by the performance of a wider variety of recurring duties.
This position level is expected to also perform duties associated with lower level administrative and staff support positions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Depending on the area of assignment:
Collects and compiles moderately-complex information.
Drafts moderately-complex correspondence.
Edits documents originating in and relating to area of assignment.
Tracks a variety of official documents relating to area of assignment.
Prepares personnel reports and meeting minutes.
Communicates policies procedures and other relevant information to internal and/or external customers.
Processes and follows up on customer service requests.
Performs receptionist duties.
Recommends improvements solutions and corrective actions to functional area.
Makes travel arrangements and prepares itineraries for staff.
Organizes office and assists associates in ways that optimize procedures.
Attends work on a regular and continuous basis.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs other related duties as assigned.
May perform tasks normally assigned to lower level administrative or staff support positions as workflow and demands require.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Below are the required education experience knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential functions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and two (2) years staff support experience or an equivalent combination of training education and experience which provide the required knowledge skills and abilities.
Must type at a minimum speed of 35 correct words per minute or at a higher speed as set by the department.
CERTIFICATIONS OR LICENSES
Licenses
If courier duties are part of the job duties a valid Florida Driver license with a safe driving record will be required.
Certifications
Prefer formal training in written communications and staff support concepts.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of office terminology practices and procedures equipment and business English spelling and arithmetic.
Thorough knowledge of computers and relevant office software.
Basic knowledge of organizational policies procedures and practices.
Ability to maintain complex records and prepare moderately-complex reports.
Ability to understand and follow moderately-complex oral and written instructions.
Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem solving.
Innovative and forward thinking.
Ability to work effectively with co-workers and internal and external customers.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to use personal computers and basic office equipment.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully an individual must possess certain physical abilities and be able to withstand work related environmental conditions.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to sit for prolonged periods of time.
