Summary: Under the direction of the VP Marketing will develop and execute comprehensive business development and community involvement plans that create awareness enhance the credit unions image and contribute to the achievement of credit union goals. Development includes working closely with the marketing branch operations business banking and financial education departments to identify opportunities implement tactics and track results. Responsible for creating and maintaining business and community leader relationships and providing excellent member service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Create and execute an annual business development plan detailing tactics and measurable outcomes for growth in members business partners Buy Local and OnSite Financing partners and open enrollments in assigned territory.
  • Solicit new business partners for the Buy Local and OnSite Financing programs.
  • Manage workplace enrollments and special event participation that provide opportunities for the credit union to connect with prospective new members.
  • Participate in the development and execution of marketings annual strategic plan for new member growth.
  • Act as a liaison and advisor to branch managers to create new business development strategies and tactics for their individual markets.
  • Participate in the development of marketing material used for business development efforts.
  • As new initiatives are introduced work with marketing to develop messaging strategies for existing and prospective business partners.

    Community Involvement

    • Identify build and manage long-term relationships with strategic partners in the community including memberships on local boards and committees.
    • Establish connections with key community groups and assist branch managers financial educators and other employees in getting involved in their local community activities.
    • Recommend and facilitate opportunities to deepen individual and credit union representation and participation in community involvement initiatives to ensure all aspects of the marketplace are covered.
    • Identify community involvement opportunities and determine which are the most appropriate and beneficial to pursue.
    • As the credit unions primary link to the community provide a constant flow of feedback from community and business leaders to APGFCU leadership.


    Other

    • Requires a flexible schedule for evening and weekend activities.
    • Responsible for special projects and other duties as assigned by leadership.
    • Provide monthly reporting to VP Marketing detailing all efforts and results for new memberships generated new partnerships established open enrollments/tabling events held and community sponsorship/event participation.

    Additional: Responsible for completion of applicable training and compliance on federal regulations and APGFCU policies and procedures as related to the duties of this position (Bank Secrecy Act Information Security as examples if applicable).

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelors degree in Marketing Public Relations Communications Business or a related field. Related experience may be substituted for formal education.

    Experience: Five plus years of sales or relationship management experience required preferably in the financial services industry. Proven track record in community engagement leadership in either a volunteer or employee role.

    Language Skills: Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers clients members and the public.

    Other Skills and Abilities: Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills is required. Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office Suite is required. Project and budget management skills are required. Ability to effectively demonstrate and coach proactive sales and service behaviors. Self-motivated with ability to work in an unstructured environment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills decisive with a get it done mentality. This position requires approximately 80% travel. Generally within the local field of membership

    Compensation information: Offers are based on experience and education.

    $102148.80 - $127691.20 annually
