What youll be doing
As a Sr. z/OS Network System Programmer you will be responsible for providing technical direction and subject matter expertise to implement enhanced network security encryption techniques and overall resiliency. The ideal candidate will plan implement configure and test network software and related hardware configurations and related system parameters. Network Programmers are responsible for managing our network switches routers and inter-site network data replication links. You will manage TCP/IP VTAM and other related network services / protocols required to support our client banking systems. Monitoring and optimizing network performance ensuring systems meet established service level agreements are a part of this role. Also you will lead network problem management incidents to resolution while working with external support vendors and create ServiceNow change tickets as required to implement required fixes.

How youll succeed
Technical Expertise you will leverage your solid technology expertise to review and analyze network requirements to evaluate & determine effective solutions for on-going business requirements. You will maintain network hardware & software at supported levels to ensure network resiliency and stability is achieved.
Effective Communication you will work to accomplish organizational goals that are consistent in supporting both IT and Business objectives communicate effectively and patiently across technology teams to influence teams to adopt solutions to keep critical systems secure and operationally resilient. You will provide and document problem analysis resolution and prevention designing procedures and best practice techniques using IBM and ISV online tools for opening and managing problem report tracking and resolution. You will actively participate in periodic disaster recovery exercises maintaining disaster recovery readiness of systems and monitoring status of systems to proactively prevent issues from occurring.
Relationship Management You will collaborate with internal business partners in Application Development Infrastructure IT Operations and IT Production Support to accomplish organizational goals that are consistent in supporting both IT and Business objectives. You will work directly with Hardware and Software vendors on solutions build your network and deepen existing relationships. You will leverage your verbal written and presentation communication skills to build strong partnerships while influencing participants to mutually beneficial outcomes.
Who you are
You can demonstrate a minimum of 10-years experience z/OS network technology and related operating systems or system programming experience. You also have fluency with z/OS concepts including : Parallel Sysplex RMF SMF WLM IPCS. Ideally you bring 5 years of zOS Systems programming configuring z/OS Communication Server. Good working knowledge of SMP/E for systems software installs & maintenance activities. z/OS Network Systems programing with multi-LPAR GDPS configurations knowledge of Z/OS Communications Server VTAM / TCPIP and network protocols & monitoring tools are essential requirements of this role.
Youre a certified professional. You have current accreditation and good standing in IBM Badge/Advanced Certification in Mainframe; Incident change and problem handling; Participation/contribution to technical projects; and in-depth knowledge and understanding of z/OS and related product software z/OS is preferred.
