  • $109901 per annum 12% superannuation
  • Full time fixed term opportunity to 1 January 2027.
  • Wadawurrung / Geelong based role (hybrid work from home 3 days a week in office)

About the opportunity

The Policy & Legislative Services Officer provides specialist administrative technical business unit support and service to the Legislation Policy and Information (LPIS) Division of WorkSafe to maintain quality outcomes and to enable the Divisions efficient functioning.

This involves supporting assisting and coordinating work across a wide portfolio of projects and programs and is designed to enable key learning and development opportunities within the team and LPIS Division.

This may involve but is not limited to supporting the Manager and team members by helping them with the development of policy and or regulatory responses assisting with research and advice coordinating confidential materials supporting meeting requirements working towards crucial deadlines and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships as well as consistently applying quality customer-services principles throughout. You will:

  • Support the Senior Policy & Legislative Services Advisors in the development of critical research and analysis on occupational health and safety and workers compensation topics
  • Assist in the development of and/or undertake the quality assurance review of statutory and non-statutory guidance.
  • Contribute to the ongoing delivery and development of effective work products by the team to address key priority policy and regulatory issues
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to work towards crucial deadlines deliver on agreed activities and accountabilities
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and participate in multi-skilled teams to proactively assist areas to apply quality customer-service principles
  • Provide high level administration support to the team by contributing to the preparation of briefings meeting papers reports or submissions to executive cabinet or parliament

About you

You will have demonstrated experience in high level administration with strong coordination and planning skills. You will have a proven ability to use initiative and be able to meet tight deadlines often with competing priorities. Your communication and organisational skills are exceptional.
Additionally:

  • Formal qualifications in relevant law or public policy will be mandatory.
  • Experience in similar role or formal qualifications in economics will be highly desired.
