Job Summary

IMC is currently hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for IMC Behavioral Health who isresponsibleforrendering safe nursing care to patients; supervising directing and monitoring the nursing care assigned to her/him; administering medications performing venipuncture assisting in the supervision and training of CNAs; and performs related duties and using the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical psycho/social education safety and related criteria for the pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric population.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- Current license as a LPN in the state of Louisiana.
- Must maintain CPR and EDGE certifications
- Knowledge of the nursing process and nursing principles.
- Demonstrates knowledge of LA Mental Health Statutes
- Knowledge of anatomy
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates respect for patients and families.
- Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care
- Applies the nursing process to each patient and implements nursing actions
- Identifies patient and family education needs and in collaboration with other disciplines initiates education needs according to the age of the patient.
- Participates in planning of patients discharge needs and readiness for discharge.
- Participates in departmental and hospital improvement plan
- Functions as a positive role model for peers and promotes a professional image of Iberia Medical Center
- Maintains confidentiality security and integrity of patient and organizational data
- Consistently lives by the Iberia Medical Center Standards of Performance
- Adheres to the Patient Safety Goals
