The Facilities Engineering and Science Section (FESS) within King Countys Department of Natural Resources and Parks Solid Waste Division (SWD) is excited to announce an opening for a Project Engineer (Engineer II). About this Role
The successful candidate will implement mostly civil electrical and mechanical repair and replacement projects identified in Solid Waste Divisions Capital Asset Maintenance Program (CAMP). They will also provide general engineering services to support the operations of eight Recycling and Transfer Stations (RTS) and two drop box locations. Work includes review of engineering reports and design documents prepared by consultants for constructability and compatibility with RTS functions prioritization of projects based on the needs of Operations and risk assessments identification of preventative maintenance requirements identification of assets that require repair and/or replacement recommending corrective measures to be accomplished implementing solutions for facility maintenance environmental controls and infrastructure problems; developing scope of work for consultant work orders and construction contracts; managing construction contracts; contributing to effective project communication.
This position performs work both remotely and on-site.

The Facility Engineering and Science Section (FESS) is a critical member of the King County Solid Waste Division team. Our engineers scientists technicians IT and operational technology professionals support a variety of large-scale programs and projects within SWD.
